Our happy chickens have moved outside! Jeff built a super cute coop and run for them to enjoy.
Actually, he built several coops! After building the first coop, he had the idea to post it on Craigslist and someone came and picked it up. And he kept getting more orders. He has built and sold 7 coops now, plus the coop for our chickens. Jeff is so handy. It amazes me that with some old fence boards, a little time and a few tools, he can create such amazing things. Everyone who buys a coop just raves about how cute it is. And it has been such a blessing to have a little extra income to fund all of his other summer projects like new grass seed, bark, and a green house he has been dreaming of building.
The chickens continue to grow like crazy. They love their new area, but also like to roam in the yard. Sadie is good at ignoring them most of the time and Lily loves to go out and say hi as long as they don't flutter around too much. We still have a few more months until they produce any eggs, but for now we are enjoying our new "pets."
