My Precious Valentines

What a joy to celebrate Valentine's Day with such a special little girl!
Grandma Kay, who lives in Palm Springs, sent her love through the mail. She sent Lily a big keepsake book to fill with love throughout the years. It is a special place for Lily to keep cards, notes, pictures, and other fun things from Grandma Kay sends. It will act as a wonderful reminder that even though she can't be here very often for parties and play dates, she is thinking of Lily every day.
Lily didn't get any special cookies this year, but she did get to celebrate with some very special people. The Friday before Valentine's Day, we headed up to my mom's for a party with Lily's aunts and cousins. Of course it was a tea party with heart shaped sandwiches and other fun finger foods. Lily even got her own place at the table, but she wanted to share with her mom. She is so thoughtful. After her short nap she even spent much of the tea at the table because she insist on being part of the fun these days.

It's not all tea parties at Grandma's- there was also lots of time for playing and reading. The kids enjoyed some of there favorites: Lightening McQueen and Cinderella. I think Jake read Lightening McQueen at least three times. How fun to spend the day together!
On Valentine's Day Jeff treated me to a nice dinner at home. We haven't really ventured out to dinner since Lily came home, so he brought dinner to us. He set the table using our good china and sneaked off to Olive Garden to pick up some of our favorites. We enjoyed a lovely evening at home and I felt so lucky to have such a thoughtful husband who I love very much. He even did the dishes!

I feel so blessed by my two precious valentines. What a great day to celebrate the love we have for others and to remember that we are able to love because God first loved us. After all, He is the ultimate valentine!
