Camping at the Falls

Our family kicked off the camping season this past weekend. We escaped the dreary weather and headed east to find the sun and meet up with friends at Palouse Falls.
It was a truly amazing place. The upper falls spilled into a huge bowl and the river followed the palouse canyon carved from steep walls of rocks. We hiked into part of the canyon and explored the lower falls. Lily was having such a good time she fell asleep! In her defense, she had a bit of a rough night. We got to camp after dark and she woke up while we quickly set up camp, and then while she was just about to finally fall back to sleep, she threw up all over our tent. And of course, we were all up at five ready to go out and explore.

We had lots of time to relax. Here Lucas is carefully considering his next move, not that the extra time helped him much... Maybe next time you won't come in last. Lily loves to be out side so camping is great for her!
Lily had lots of fun playing with her friend, Eva. This picture was taken right before both girls toppled out of their chairs like dominoes. Both were fine, but it was a funny sight.

We headed further down the Palouse canyon to Lyon's Ferry where there was a beach to play on. It was a little over grown, but Sadie loved playing in the water. Eva also thought the water was fun and did a little skinny dipping!

Eating a yummy nectarine for breakfast. And some goodbye kisses while we packed up to go.

We had so much fun on our short little get away. It was great to spend time enjoying the outdoors, relaxing in the sun, and laughing with friends. More camping to come soon!
