Lily's birthday comes at such a crazy time of the year (December 23rd) so to make sure she gets a day to fully honor how special and amazing she is, we celebrate her half birthday with a family day and some fun summer presents. This year we went to Northwest Trek. It was so much fun. We decided to get a membership for NW Trek (and the zoo) and are already looking forward to going back.
We spent lots of time looking for animals. It was a cool northwest day, so the animals were out and active.

Our quest to find animals took us on the hour long tram ride. Lily thought it was great.

"Hey, Look over there!"

Gotta love that smile!

After the tram, we took a little lunch break.

And then we continued exploring.

Lily loved running on the trails and watching all the animals play. She found sometime to play, too!

Here are some of the animals we found:
Bald Eagle

Wolverine

Badger

Caribou

Bighorn Sheep

Black-Tailed Deer

Trumpeter Swan

Bison

Grey Wolf

Grizzly Bear

Coyote

Lynx

We headed home after a great day of exploration for a nice long nap and then a few presents. Lily and Jeff practiced some animal noises while they put together one of her new puzzles.

The real fun was Lily's new sand/water table.

She played for a little bit before dinner (Lily's first Swedish Pancakes-
yummo!), but I am sure we will be out early in the morning to play some more!

What a wonderful day to honor a wonderful little girl!
