Berries

Our garden has been fruitful!

All cleaned and ready for the freezer!

A Quick Camp Trip

On our trip home from Palm Springs, we broke up the 20+ hour drive with a quick camping trip at Billy Chinook in the Cove of the Palisades. It is an absolutely beautiful location! Everyone, including Sadie, enjoyed our short overnight stay. For those of you curious how the drive went after reading about or trip south, Lily was a super star! We left again at bedtime, but this time Lily slept the whole time. After a breakfast stop, we had another 4 hours which Lily split between playing and sleeping. After our night of camping, we were still 4.5 hours from home, but again she happily played when she wasn't sleeping. What a blessing!

Poor girl! Can you tell how tired she was of travelling?

Visit to Papa and Grandma Kay

Our family spent a week and a half in beautiful Palm Springs visiting Jeff's parents. Jeff had two friends who joined us over the long weekend for lots of golf. Angela (Jeff's sister) also joined us for the last few days of our trip. There are a lot of pictures from our trip, so just consider this picture overload 4-5 post put together in one!

Lily had lots of fun playing with Lucy. She kept asking to go into Grandma Kay's room in search of Lucy.

Another favorite was playing with Grandma Kay's many hats.
One of Grandma Kay's friends loaned us lots of fun toys during our visit. One of Lily's favorites was a ride-on train. She especially loved to be pushed around the house, which Papa was happy to do.

On Sunday we went to church with Grandma Kay and Angela while the boys were golfing. Lily may end up being a true California girl!

There was lots of time for reading and puzzles too.

Grandma Kay soaked up this special time!

One of Lily's new favorite treats: Popsicles!

The adults indulged in some treats of their own. Scott makes some strong drinks!

I tried a frozen mudslide. Yummy!

And of course there was lots of time for swimming. When the temp is near 100, a pool is a must!

Sadie enjoyed the pool.

Lily took to the pool much better than expected. She really enjoyed "swimming" with her daddy.

And when Lily needed a little break, she did a little gardening- well playing in the rocks with gloves on.

While Jeff was busy playing his 12 rounds of golf, often playing twice a day, we girls had lots of time to play on our own. We had a great time visiting Grandma Kay's friends. We were blessed with cooler weather which allowed us to visit a couple parks in the mornings.

Here Lily got to feed the ducks and turtles. She also had fun chasing the ducks.

Lily loves to play with wheels.

We watched a game of tennis and Lily earned a free ball for her cuteness.

One morning Grandma Kay took us to the Children's Discovery Museum. It was really one giant playroom with a loft for dressing up, a grocery store and pizza parlor for pretend play, lots of toys, craft stations, and more!

Our little chef!

Checking up on the animals.

Craft Time

Lily loved crawling around in the rope maze.

Thanks Grandma Kay and Papa for such a fun time!

Packing

Lily had fun entertaining herself while Jeff and I were packing. She escaped out side, sitting on the little side table with daddy's hat, chewing on his headphones, and holding a lens from his sunglasses. She was so cute I couldn't help but take a few pictures.

Summer Fun

Lily found a new fun activity for the summer. She enjoys coloring her cheeks more than the sidewalk, but it's a start!
